USAA Albacore Classifieds

Boats are listed in boat number order (older boats at the top and newer boats towards the bottom). If you are looking to sell your boat please contact Peter Duncan at sailfaster@aol.com to set up your listing. Please include the boat number, manufacturer (if known), requested price, and other details of interest.

In response to strong demand for economical, race equipped Albacores, HAPCO is bringing used canadian club boats for rehabilitation and resale into the Chesapeake Bay market. HAPCO will also create the ultimate racing Albacore just to your specs.

Albacore #687
Vintage all mahogany Albacore built by Fairey Marine in England in the early 60's. The foredeck and hull are in great condition as are the mast and boom. The sails, main and jib are Dacron but do have discoloration. The rudder is a "pop-up" design built by my father, and the centerboard is about 80 lbs of aluminum. There is a crack in the rear area of the starboard bench from an aggressive rear end following a quick come-about. It sits on a Holsclaw tilt trailer with good rubber and a new spare tire (4.5/4.0-8). This boat won the season open division in 1970 as a member of the Sierra Yacht Club at Lake Tahoe. It has seen salt water only once in its life and has always been garaged.

I would like to get $2000.00 for this boat, but am more anxious for the garage space.

Cell phone below is best number to call.

ALBACORE #4862 – available for charter
1973 Skene hull with racing deck retrofitted. Lots of stiffening and structure added (see article on web site at http://www.albacore.org/USA/members/repair/4862_rebuild.asp). Waterat centerboard, Waterat high aspect ratio rudder, Proctor D mast, Proctor boom. New unused jib, and low mileage North main and jib. Racing rigging and controls. On Rapide trolley. I don't want to sell this boat, but I am not sailing it, and it should be raced, and not living in a friend's back yard.

Albacore #2481
I'm not really a sailer, but I've got an albacore, hull #2481, built by grampian that was given to me. It's been in my pole barn for four years. Want to sell it...

It's more of a club boat, has mail & jib, tiller, trailer that is still solid.

I have it listed on craigslist --- thought you might be able to creat a link to let your members know its available. I'd like to see it go to someone --- fleet related. Maybe a good starter for a kid.

I'm asking $750 which seemed reasonable to me.
